Mickey d's any1...?
That really sucks, I know you must be frusterated and upset that your car got injured.
but however... Dude look at that picture. Thats freaking AWESOME. I'd totally leave it in there.

ok cool i just went...thats a pretty good deal for the set of lights, i may just end up doing that...but im not sure if to spend $121 for one or just over $150 for both...plus a starter....since im planning on selling tha car soon..(like hopefully end of the month soon)..i guess it'd be a good selling point..."hey i just put in 2 new headlights...and a starter"... BUT its only worth like $3k-$3.5k...and i owe like $4k...and if i buy the lights and starter thats +/- $250...so i dunno wether to even bother and just tell em "hey this is what u can do..etc etc"

yeah just leave the insurance out of it ... no need to clam this and have everyone's rate go up in a year or too ... that's the number one reason that the rate are the way they are now a days , because people clam stupid stuff that makes no since at all, its a head light, sure i would be pissed too but just go to a junk yard and get a new/used one. but when you do have to use the insurance you use them too the fullest that you can

plus it chips and cracks..(think windshield..)
What happened to OP might not have happened if he had glass headlights, or brand new plastic headlights.
Also, I've seen glass headlights on JDM cars quite often. For some reason, they only put crappy plastic on imports. Had the same problem with my Mx-3, had the same fix too...

all cars now have plastic hadlights...ive never heard of replacement glass lights(xept in that one posted here) for a car that already has plastic lights...
i think its kind of a law among car manufacturing stuff to have plastic lights...
and no plastic doesnt dry out and get brittle..(at least headlights...) they do oxide tho and get dull...
if i were to have brand new headlights when the cup hit, id have a broken new headlight...glass depending on how thick it may or may not be broken...but with the weight and speed that cup went in im SURE it'd break too...think of a full large soda cup of Mcd's...weighs what like 3...4 lbs..?...now add approx 90mph..(i was going about 45...i assume he was too...45+45=90...)...now do the math for whatever the energy that is and u get basically the equivalent of a sledge hammer going thru my headlight...
