I have a 2006 Lancer RalliArt. I few weeks ago i had gotten into a wreck and after the shop had fixed everything i got my car back and some electrical things havent been working. Here is a list of everything thats wrong that i know of:

-Brakes lights dont work but tail lights work
-High Beam Icon on dash doesnt work
-Power locks only work when key is turned to on
-Clock doesnt work
-Trip odometer gets reset when i turn my car off
-Radio gets reset when i turn my car off
-Interior lights dont work


These are the things that dont work that i have noticed. I thought it might have been a fuse but i went through and i couldnt find any that were blown...I am trying to avoid taking it to a Mitsu Dealership due to the high price of just looking at the car and seeing whats wrong. Any ideas?

 

you need a wiring diagram, and a multimeter. many of those things get their power through a fuse, but are actually switched on by a relay.

 

what you really need to do is bring it back to the shop an tell them to finish the job....especially if you werent at fault , but even if you were at fault, they are obligated to fix the car to fully functional status as it was prior to the accident

 

If your radio is resetting, I'd check the connections to the battery for sure. Inspect the cables and the grounds as well as the corresponding connections to the positive cable.

Did these items work PRIOR to the wreck? If so, why didn't the shop fix or at least qualify those issues up front?

 

Everything was working fine before the wreck and they had done a great job on the body work. The worst part is i got it inspected 2 days after getting it back from the shop and then a week ago i get pulled over by a cop because my brake lights werent working. that was the first i knew of that problem and i have been trying to figure out whats wrong since then.

 

yeah i guess take it back to the shop, asap, as the less time there is since you got the car back, the less it would give them the opportunity to try and say things stopped working after the fact.

 

Man, that would suck! Sorry to here this bad news... I feel for ya cause i too had electrical problems only mine started when i bought the car used.. But good luck with everything and keep us posted!

 

I see a pattern here. Pop your hood, and check fuses #10 and #22 in the fuse panel between the headlight and the strut tower on the driver's side.
