SRS Light Help- Front Impact Sensor!!!

well I searched and came across nothing, but my question is about 3 weeks ago I had noticed that my SRS light was on. I had a friend of mine scan it, and it said "Front Impact Sensor," he then resetted it and it was off up until today. As far as I know the car has not been in any accident. What would cause this light to trigger on and off? I can't imagine it being serious due to the fact that as soon as resetting it, it would have came back on. When it had come on I priced out a new sensor from Mitsubishi at $112.00. Have you guys/girls had this problem in the past??? Thanks in advance...
Kevin

we just recently got a lot of rain in raleigh, and my srs light came on as well, check out this thread, it talks about the corroded connectors.

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/in...lins-rain.html

I checked my connectors and no corrosion seems to be found.
goodluck and keep us posted of what u end up doing.

I believe there are two sensors located on the frame one on each side of the radiator. Did the computer say which sensor, left or right? It is almost certainly a bad connection, but I suppose it could be a bad sensor. If yours friends computer can tell left versus right when the SRS light is on, you might try swapping sensors to determine if it is sensor or connector. BTW which computer does your friend have a MUT II or somethings else. Thanks.

Yep, those are the sensors. They have yellow plugs. Each side is routed separately through the inner fenders. If you determine that the left side sensor is triggering the light, then you probably do have a water leak as described in the "gremlins post."

Hi, in the past I had issues with the "Electrical Gremlins" (see https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...s-how-fix.html) which I could fix cleaning all the connectors and better sealing the grommets.

Now I also have the SRS light coming up and the MUT II says left and right impact sensor. Before changing them (I got them quoted, in Switzerland, for about 700 US$) I will try to clean the connectors to the sensors themselves. I'll post here the result.

Seems a bit expensive. In the US, the sensors are about $120.00 each. Keep in mind that the SRS code will have to be reset at the dealership, and the cost is also about $120.00. Its difficult to imagine what would trigger both sensors except a collision, or turning the key on with both sensors disconnected. I have several previous posts about these sensors if you care to search my posts on this forum. Good luck.
