SRS light

Need help with resetting my SRS light. It's been on for the past couple of months and thought it was about time to get rid of it. I called around to a couple of dealerships and they want to charge $250.00 just to reset the light. Apparently, they need to check the whole system and make sure that it's okay to reset. I know there is nothing wrong with anything. Does anyone know how to reset it?

I was thinking about that... but just on the chance that someone might ram into me... I would like the comfort of an airbag...

When you use a code scanner it doesn't tell you the error? I could be wrong but I think mine checks all the systems, not just the ECU.

I have the same problem. When installing my Evo wheel I took off the airbag to work on the steering alignment and it just stayed on. So took out the bulb, and have forgotten it until now. The lowest quote I got, explaining the situation, was $100.

I would pay 100 bucks to help prevent my face going into my momo steering wheel! Did you have the battery disconnected when you were working around your steering wheel?

Does it work with the scanner? I thought the the ECU scanner only takes care of SES light, not the SRS light.

Yeah the only thing the light is on for is to tell you that hey something happened and you should check the system, it doesnt mean it will not deploy. Its just a pesky light. Mine came on when I unplug the yellow sensor on the drivers side and forgot to plug it back in and I started the car and now it wont go away. Today I might scan my car at work and see if I can clear it. Otherwise I just ignore it and drive around w/ it as it doesnt affect anything else w/ my car.

You may have already tried this, but if not disconnect the battery and step on the brake pedal a couple times to disapate any residual charge in the system. leave the battery disconnected and check all the srs connections. obviously fix any issues then reconnect the battery. the system should've reset itself and unless there's still a problem the light should go off.

I remember Honda having issues like this a few years ago and they were threatened with a class action lawsuit and decided to take care of it. The thing is under warranty still isnt it? The non powertrain stuff is sposed to be 10/100 as I recall.
