slight electrical issue... need help
so here's the issue...over the last week or so i've noticed that my amp will randomly kick out, and when i shift gears my headlights flicker. i have a video of what i'm talking about, but i cant figue out how to get it onto youtube or upload it to here in a way that it will actually work from my iphone...
any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can you elaborate on the amp randomly kicking out? It could be caused by over heating, but if your dimming head lights are a related problem, then it sound like the amp is getting too little current.
I would check all of your grounds, then your battery (making sure it is holding a good charge and it would be best if it was a deep cycle battery), after that, I would suspect that your alternator may be starting to kick the bucket.
Dimming head lights while running an amp at idle or lower rpms is a common problem only because stock alternators are not built for the current load amps put onto them. At higher rpms the alternator produces more current which is why you do not notice the dimming lights.

The amp kicking off is a little odd. It actually looses all power and shuts down for a couple seconds regardless if I've been pounding the system or not...
To me it sounds like a weak connection somewhere, or a weak alternator.
If you haven't already I would start by cleaning your battery terminal posts and your ground connections.
After that, well I'm not sure.

Ya I've been planning on doing a ground kit, now I guess it's just moved up on my list. I'll clean the terminals and give a grounding kit a try and then see if it still does it..

yeah I made my own grounding kit, back in 2005 lol it's still holding up and helped out to smooth my idle, and it's great for all of the sensors to get a more clear reading. Not to mention no static shock when touching my car

Sorry. Forgot they're under SCS. NLMotoring is a branch of SCS

+1 on grounds. I've had to clean up the wiring and install new grounds on a couple spots because they just snapped. Inspect carefully each one (the one I had trouble with was on left of the engine, right next to the engine mount). I'm not sure for the RA, but usually the engine head, block, intake manifold, battery negative terminal and fuse box are all grounded on their own. There might be even more.
+1 on check your battery connections at the posts. The shifting weight of the battery when you let off the gas is probably wiggling a loose battery cable, making your amp drop out and your headlights flicker.
