Warranty work

I am wondering what I should have done while the car has a warranty. When I bought the car I purchased the bumper to bumper coverage for 45,000 miles or 3 years. It will cover to 111,000 miles on the car as the papers state. I just want to make a list of things to have fixed or worked on so I can get my moneys worth.

The first thing I am getting fixed will be the AC/Heater control assembly.
Hopefully the timing belt will be covered also.

Thanks for the help in advance!!!

HVAC control assembly is a little expensive, if you can get one under warranty that would be good, timing belt/water pump service is a must...and if you are manual are you having any problems with grinding gears?

Well best of luck getting everything and anything you can "under warranty" all I have heard is how they will kick and scream that it's your fault this or that broke therefore they won't fix it "under warranty" anyway. My TOB is shot and I haven't ever open up the trans but I'm sure they will say I've been racing and they won't cover ****... and I'm the original owner.

Timing belts and waterpump wouldnt be "under warranty" anyway that's wear and tear , part of maintainence, like tires and brakes.

If the water pump failed and contaminated the belt, then it would be covered. Most all service contracts have water pump coverage, even the basic ones.

Yeah, for the Lancer as well as a lot of other cars, 3rd gear synchros seem to not last very long...

Under warranty the stealership changed my flexpipe two times, the sunroof electric motor.
I do know people have gotten out from warranty a replacement for bad shocks.

They wont change anything if it isnt "broken" so theres not much you can ask them to do for you and anything wear and tear wont be covered(so no the timing belt wont be covered unless its damaged before the stated millage in the manual). I would advise getting to know the car and the service manual. What exactly is your warranty? Im the only owner of the car and i had 6yrs or 60k miles and the 10yrs 100k miles powertrain warranty. So your 3yr 45k is whats left right?

I am going to go speak with the shop this weekend to get the HVAC issue fixed. The belt and pump situation, I will deal with when the time comes. I drive her nice 95% of the time. The 5% is usually Friday after work wanting to get home. The warranty is one I bought through the auto lot. It is not the Mitsubishi coverage. This dealership is very well liked in this area. The warranty company has good reviews also, cannot remember the name right now.
