Different types of Timing belt kits
So I was wondering if the Ralliart engine uses the same components as the galant and eclipse with the 4g69 motor. Do we use the same type of timing belts and water pumps? I'm just curious because I found this kit and I was planning on getting it rather then the $400 kit that I've seen on amazon. If there is a cheap similar option, could you provide me links and other information on this? I've seen other threads with similar questions but why not start a new thread for fun. :] The kit is right here: http://www.ebay.com/itm/04-07-Mitsub...#ht_2949wt_952

I also came across this one http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mitsubishi-O...ht_2420wt_1185
neither of those appears to include the auto tensioner, which is like a $180 part...that's probably why it's so much cheaper, and one of the kits doesn't even include the idler.
it's a small cylinder that bolts up to the car that pushes a piston out , that pushes against a iron arm that creates tension for the timing belt
you will need this and without it all of the other parts are pretty useless

mitsubishi says you can re use it, if it meets certain criteria, but i forget what it says. Anyways, i replaced mine cause i had a timing belt failure.
it's kind of silly to have such an expensive part to do such a simple job...what happened to springs? My Lancer ES 4G94 uses a spring to tension the timing belt...

I'mat 98k miles. Do I need to do my timing belt thing soon? Is it just my timing belt or should I just do everything? I'm planning on not driving my car a lot... until I get my timing belt and water pump done. I'm scared if I rev over like 3.5k my timing belt might snap or something. lol.

edit: you have to take the front passenger wheel off...obvious to me, but for those that might not know...you'd figure it if you did it yourself though..lol and if there's excessive wear you'll see the belt is worn to the metal between the teeth, that is a telltale sign that you're ready to start strippping teeth.

This.
You don't really want to try and wait to much longer. I had my done at 126K KMS, not miles. This is when I first bought the car. I knew the previous owner never did it so before I even took it home for the first time, I got the timing belt done. I also knew that I was going to drive my RA hard so was cautious of what maintenance wasn't done.
Do what CrAnSwIcK said and you should be fine as far as know what to do next goes.
Also do not do what I did. Replace the water pump, like you said, and save yourself the tomorrows headaches.
