The broken taillight, marker light and bumper damage is about 2 weeks ago. This happened last year; we're too broke to fix it.

In her defense, I've come within inches of backing into the same tree. My dad's driveway curves (whose stupid idea was that?) for no reason.

I can't really blame her for tearing off the front air dam. She pulled over a parking bumper where some moron left about 6 inches of rebar sticking up from the top of it. When she backed out, it tore off the whole side of the air dam, all the way across the center of the bumper.

So, it's pretty cool to own a car that was only imported to the USA for one year... until you need a specific body part. I need at least the left taillight, bumper cover and marker light.

I have seen a junkyard in Quebec that had a bunch of Ralliarts; anyone have any leads?

There's a yard in town here that has a silver Sportback LS. The bumper cover and lights are the same, and I think that my lower air dam is re-usable. Problem is, they want about $150 for the taillight. I'm used to paying U-pull-it prices, like $5 for a taillight. Maybe I'm showing my age, but maybe $25-50 wouldn't be so bad.

I don't even want to know what the bumper cover's going to cost from those guys.

Hey, while I'm at it: will the Evo 8 air dam fit our bumper? There's a bunch of them on ebay.

I know, I should search this, but I didn't have any luck after about 45 minutes last night, so I gave up. Besides, I kept getting side tracked into reading other discussions because they were interesting

As I have both vehicles, I'm leading toward saying yes.

That's encouraging. Some of the Evo ones are pretty cheap. The quality isn't likely that great on some of them, but the stock one's expensive.

With modification, anything's possible. The EVO front bumper is wider than the Lancer, so you'll have to trim it (I'd guess about 3-4"). In other words, cut 3-4" out from the very center of the lip, then splice it back together.

Depending on how much modification you wanna do, a closer fit would be the front lip from a 98-01 Honda Accord (there are a couple threads in the show and shine section discussing this). It would still need a little trimming, but not too bad. Best bet for a factory fit on the cheap.....troll some junkyards and hope to get lucky!

Try a place called JDM tuners in Calgary Canada these guys ship used parts from Japan to here for all the skylines and rhd cars but they also helped me out with a oem JDM rear for my IX and it cost me almost a quarter of what some people ask for on here.

I found some parts locally. A yard in the next county had a rear bumper cover and LH taillight. He quoted me $100 each for them on the phone. When I picked them up, he wrote up the ticket and asked me for $175. I was expecting to pay $214 (with sales tax).

I didn't complain. He didn't charge me extra for the marker lights either.

It wasn't a Ralliart, so no deal on the front air dam. The interior was stripped also, so I couldn't get an ashtray. I don't smoke, but mine's missing and I'm tired of the hole in the console.

Glad to hear you found some parts. I cringed when I seen that broken taillight, and thought to myself, that will be tough to replace.

OT:
I will not allow the misses to drive any of my cars, except for the Kia, she can and has beat the **** out of that car. I haven't driven it for 10 months at least, the other day she says "it's hard to turn". I ask her "how long has that been for?". Her response, "6 months".

I look under the hood, the power steering pump is pissing fluid all over the place, for 6 months! Women, I will never understand them.

A little off topic, I just needed to get that out there.

This car was bought for me; at the time she was driving an Odyssey (with a dent in the front bumper from hitting a tree next to the driveway). She wouldn't have been driving it much at all (if ever) if things have worked out.

Unfortunately, the drop in the economy hit my veterinary practice really hard. As our income dropped, we sold the van and I started driving an 88 Chevy truck. She needed something that would carry our two kids, so she got the Lancer.

Now the practice is closed and we're in the middle of a bankruptcy, so nothing's going to change very soon.

You don't want to have to get one brand new. I can't find one for less than $72.

car-part.com lists a few whole Lancer consoles for $35-40.

OEM part number is MR646881 in case you want to search on your own.

That's rough, I'm sure you will make it out in the end.

I meant to say "that will be tough to replace" not "tough to explain" My bad.

Sincerely, good luck in all your future endeavors.
