Sorry To Say But I Might Be Leaving The Network
That's crazy. I was going 80 Mph and swiped a guard rail. All I needed was a new fender, bumper, and driver side fender/rear&front light . Oh and to fix rear quarter panel. It cost me 500 bucks doing it all myself. No frame damage or anything.
See if the insurance will drop alittle money for a new car cause these days u can get a brand new car for 20,000 so if they put whatever in n u maybe 2 to 3 grand u almost have maybe 6000 off of a 20000 car so that leaves u with a 3 year payment of maybe 250 a month for a brand new car. N plus is u can always go a tuner freindly car for 20000 if u ask me that's a good deal n who knows maybe insurance will drop alittle more in if your lucky talk to them n get them to squeeze out the money. Be like if I repair this ra your still throwing some money in for repairs but if I buy a new car its same thing your moneys going in, only difference is its a new car but your money is still money wheather u buy a portion or u repair a car. Try u never know
I tried to get a used cadillac for 16000 only 67000 kms it was an 08 cts really nice. But my credits new n I couldn't get finaced for then 10000 so I went bang for buck n got the 05 RA, lots of good options over 15000 to 20000
I could see a high $ value on the damage, but 9k does sound like it's pushing it.
Then again, there are alot of factors that could lead up to that amount of damage... (school) buses are pretty solid haha. Maybe he got the tail pipe jammed through his whole front end, or buckled the car underneath the bus.
Maybe the car was in a previous accident that took away from the integrity of the crash bar and rad support, etc. Hell, the OEM headlamps are like $340 bucks a piece if I remember correctly. A bumper can use $400 worth of paint, figure in labour to have the frame checked, etc. ad there goes your estimate.. that can take a week or two at some places.
Or maybe the city of Sudbury is going to make him pay for the bus repairs too...
Depending on the temps plastic bumper can shatter literally into a hundred pieces during the winter (here anyways..)
Meh.
Weird things can happen to a car when you run it into bus. Haha.

I could see how a shop would tell the insurance company that it'd cost 9k work of repairs.
Heck I just had my door replaced and it costed nearly $1700 for parts, labor, and paint blending.
Now throw in damages to the front bumper, headlights, hood, fenders, etc. I could see it costing that much...
Sorry to hear it bro! Best of luck!
