20-32 seconds clutch is pushed in, at 34 seconds it's disengaged and I hear that rattle. But louder, maybe the camera couldn't pick it up as good

Mine somewhat sounds like that

God I hope it isnt an input shaft bearing. From what I've gathered that's a rediculously expensive and intrusive job no ?

Couldn't really tell in the first video revving it didn't really help.. The second video is kinda what mine sounded like.. But on mine once there was a load on it aka driving around it wouldn't make the noise unless stopped.. When I rebuilt mine total cost was like 90 bucks for fluid the bearing and sealant

Yea mine does go away upon accel, but if I'm in second or first, let's say I accel, it goes away, if I go off the accelerator it will sound, especially in first.

in my opinion...it's not fun unless it costs time and money...am i right..?
(@ least in 90% of things)
wether we can afford it or not..

i don't ever launch my car(maybe 5 or 6 times since i bought it)...but i do toss it around on a regular basis, and it still makes noises and rattles and needs repair...i got my car and it was fine too...and if we didn't beat on it, it'd still make noise, rattle, go out of alignment etc etc..it's just normal wear...(compounded by beating on it)

and apple will eventually rot, but if you toss it in the dryer, it will happen faster, is what you're saying

It's not us, it's the shi--y gearbox.
This car sees nothing like the abuse my 1st love I mean car used to get and that car knew not the meaning of breakdown. I used to race, chase, launch and was always on it, crashed it twice going over 80 km/h, sent the revs to 8k on a mischange once (redlined at 6k) and it just said no problem buddy, I 'm here for you, now floor it !.
I used to drive it so hard it had to get seam welded due to the stress cracks in the chassis.
Mitsubishi gearboxes are built with play dough and plasticine is all.

If you want to dance to the music you have to pay the piper is what my teacher told me .. He was surprised they used a ball bearing told me that they don't take up and down abuse very well.. I could swore I saw a thread on here talking about a different gear box that fit a lancer out of a eclipse or something I wonder what kind of bearing is used in it

Unless it is a close ratio box like ours you would lose more in performance than you gain in reliability.

I think the only difference was the final drive which is 500 rpms lower than ours but not entirely sure
