so besides the 5th gear and final drive difference..(and some having a lsd), what other trans bolts up to our car and fits right..?
anybody know?

i think it would be pretty sweet if the MR 6 speed bolted on...then i wouldn't continuously try to shift to 6th when im cruisin down the freeway...lol

not sure how you would eliminate the transfer, but it's been done in the DSM world, converting AWD transmissions for FWD use...but does it fit...the eclipse GT has a 6-speed as well...

i'm sure u just take the t-case off and stick in a axle shaft, just would have to figure out what one would work...but don't quote me on that...
plus if the gt 6 speed works, then u don't have to worry about what to do w the t-case...is it a one piece trans/t-case or is are the 2 just bolted together...?
and just out of curiosity does either one have a lsd?

ps i know there's ways out there to make evos fwd or rwd...so if u were to swap the evo trans in, there's gotta be some way to make it work fwd or rwd also..(maybe different since it's be in a not normally used application...

Isn't the six speed have the same gear ratio as our 5 to their 6 I read somewhere that the different gears is between 3 and 4

Are you sure that's our trans on the right? I thought our final drive ratio was 4.05 or something like that.. I could be wrong though

This why its so frustrating , I say "stay on topic" or lock it and everyone thinks I'm the bad guy for it. This is a big part of why we haven't moved forward much, 70% of the time it's been discussed the other 27% is crosstalk, mixed misinformed points, and just plain stupidity. Then there is the real new good stuff thats worth reading an talking about but at 3%

(this isn't directed at any single person)
