Sunroof does not pause between slide & tilt
Sunroof does not pause between slide & tilt
When I attempt to close the sunroof, there is no obvious stop point before it starts to tilt open. The same problem exists between closing the tilt and opening the slide. In order to properly close the sunroof, I have to reach out through the window and feel for when the glass is level with the roof and let go of the switch right at that point.
How should the sunroof normally close? I assume you have to hold the switch, but my guess is that it either pauses or stops (requiring you to let go and re-press) between modes. Any thoughts on why mine is behaving this way? Bad relay?
Thanks!
Dave

Hmmm I'm not sure what's wrong with it. I know with mine I can hold it to open or one touch to open fully. To close I have always had to hold it but I would just hold it until it stops and it would be closed. It could be worse though some people's sunroofs just get stuck and don't move.
I have had this same issue with mine for over a year. When I first got the car it worked perfect. Would stop on its own even if i keep holding the button back. Now it goes to far down if I keep holding the button. I never really found a solution. Just make sure you line it up like you are talking about so it doesn't leak. Should be fine.
Seems like your stepper motor gear for the sunroof has skipped a tooth or so..
Fortunately if you search in ralliart forums here, there is a thread where you can reset the operation of it as to "learn" when to stop and so.
I repaired my sunroof since my stepper motor had the 2 of the 3 bolts out. I had to remove all the roof to access the motor and reinstall the bolts.
If I find the sunroof post I will post it here.
