Blue paint scrapped on my 06's bumper!

I know it's my own dumb **** fault but I need to vent. Was rushing to make a 1:30 appointment to get my winter tires on that I bought from gta tires. In rushing I scrapped the right side of my pristine bumper on the blue concrete column in my work place parking garage!!! On top of it all, I get to the guys shop, he looks at my car and tells me he ordered the wrong wheels so I'll have to come back in a day or two....... The wheels and tires which I bought and paid for 2 months ago. GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, I just wanna scream. My poor ra, she was so pretty, white and clean. Now I need to either fork out the cash to get it touched up or attempt it myself or look for a new bumper or use this as an excuse to get a body kit.

What would you guys do?

oh man that really sucks I would be super pissed and couldn't look at it for too long.

I would try to sell the bumper and get a aftermarket one.

but thats just me.

Not being able to see this in person I would say you should be able to buff it right out...except any areas where it might have dug into the paint and actual bumper.

Sucks...but it is not that bad.

By the looks of it you should be okay. Get some rubbing compound or something even less abrasive (Meguiars Scratch X) and start with that. You should be able to remove most if not all of the paint with some good elbow grease.

I should note, white paint was sadly left on the column so I know some scraped off. I think I could try this rubbing compound though....

I would also try WD-40 and/or carb cleaner on the paint. This will take the blue paint off while leaving your white paint alone (this is because the blue paint isn't sealed like the white paint is). Spray it on a towel and try it in a small spot first to test it out. If it works and you feel comfortable spray the WD-40 on the surface of the car where the blue streak is and let it sit for 10 minutes and wipe it off.

I would also use rubbing compound (perhaps a clay bar) and a buff wheel on it.

Even if it some of the white paint is missing it will MUCH less noticeable than having blue streaks on it.

This is the route I would try first.

I was going to say something close to what Binky said. Some carb cleaner, Degreaser, elbow grease, clay bar, elbow grease, and some more elbow grease. It doesnt look that damaged so I would buff the crap out of it and see where that got me.

Where I work, some kid spraybombed the side of a car. I got that paint off, didn't hurt the original finish. I'll bring a small kit of things I use and we'll try to clean it up on Saturday. Stay strong.

Sounds good RalliartN.

Thanks all, you've made me feel much better and put my mind to ease. I'll definitely work on removing the paint and see what damage is left underneath. I guess I just need to accept that the car will need clay, waxing and polishing from now on. I should learn how to do this stuff myself anyways.

Damn bro! Your car is so nice and white lol. Mine is worse than yours though Still haven't had the time to take photos as I'm so busy with work and so tired when I get home from the gym.

My lip is cracked at the bottom and my bumper is scratched up. Let's try to clean our cars up together!

Oh shxt! I just noticed that you're in Toronto! Where abouts are you?!?
