Rolling 1st gear

I've been looking but I can't find anything talking about what I'm specifically trying to find out. Basically I'm talking about that awkward speed/moment you're coming up to traffic light with someone there, the light changes and you're going maybe 2mph but it's too slow for second (starts chugging). Is it okay to roll/shift into first without making a complete stop to continue on?

You could, or press the clutch in a little and give some gas to bring your rpm up and then release the clutch. It all depends on how the car handles. If you switch into 1st and its jerky then do what I mentioned. If its not jerky then gear down to 1st, accelerate and gear back up.

if you're actually going that slow, you SHOULD be able to downshift without rev matching, but 2nd gear at idle rpm should still move the car without stalling...

Lol yeah, I always just put it in second. If I'm moving at all, second can get me going.
