Probably not a good comparison, but I was driving around in my parents' Malibu, and it's got the 3.1 V6, 170 hp.... and it couldn't even hold a candle to the way my RA opens up speed...I mean, family car vs. sport compact is not a good comparison (gearing, etc...), but it goes to show you how well a job they did with this motor.


Oh...and I took my friend for a spin in the car, he was shocked when I told him it was an inline 4....he swore it was a V6.

Just because they had an RA dynoed doesnt mean the Dyno was theirs. If it was their own Dyno I am sure they would have a ton of numbers for us to see, especially about their piggy back ECU.

it wasn't rrm it was ultimate racing that posted the numbers. And I think they are in the engine/drivetrain section

GM's 3.1L isn't that good for power, underwhelming.

GM didn't spice up the motor until the 3.4l in the Z34. It didn't take too long before th 3.8L in the Grand PRix GT, not the SC version.
