My roommate basically parked her Rav4 on my car...
So Friday... I get a call from my roommate saying "Don't be mad but..." which is always a good sign. Which was then followed up with "you may need a new bumper for your car....There's just a little paint chip or two but it looks fine, I didn't have time to check it out all the way but it doesn't seem that bad..."
She was referring to this,
Well. My next clue that it was more than a love tap was this,
...Then this,
Further investigation (ie. brushing the snow off my car...) lead to this,
I left my car at home that day because we had so much snow I couldn't get it down the road, thought it would be safer to leave it there for the day and not risk an accident until the streets got cleared.
This is probably a pointless topic but I'm still lightly aggravated to the point I thought I'd share.

I live with a couple.
I've got a claim appointment with insurance on the 23rd.
Totally lucky that the guy I live with practically manages a body shop.
He estimates about 3G in damage... (new hood, reman bumper, grills, blending the fenders, headlight seal is busted so probably new depos I'm hoping).
Will have to see how the claim goes.
I'm just happy it was her and not a hit and run, knowing this neighborhood.

Awww... Man that sucks... Good thing you know who it was though and its getting taken care of. Brings back bad memories of when my car got swiped by a drunk underage kid at a party. I had to hunt him down, then he tried to deny it, then i had to threaten him that i knew it was him people at the party saw him do it and that if he didnt pay I'd have to file a police report and there would be a warrant for his arrest for a hit and run and he had just got his license. Told him that if I had to go through all that he'd have to have damn good luck finding reasonable insurance for the next 10 years of his life. Something about that convinced him to pay for the repairs though. LOL

You have to watch with reman parts -- not all hoods are aluminum. not all bumpers are quality, headlights that fog because they are made in china....
Personally it may sound like your being a dick -- but she has insurance for a reason.
I would want OEM quality parts.
