I have seen pic of other companies CAI for the RA. Let me tell you they suck. They are not Cold air intakes. They are short ram WARM air intakes. The length of the entire setup must only be about 1 foot. The filter sits where you origional intake box used to be once you remove to install the new intake. This will not provide you with much if any power upgrade. The ram air intake stock unti is pretty good. I have heard that others are just dropping in a K&N filter and having good performance benifits.

As for me, I got the CAI from road race. I am very happy with it. The install was a littly tricky due to the tight fit, but it give good performance boost. Also, when your driving it make a really cool sound. You can hear the air being sucked into the intake and it makes this suction sound, much like a supercharger. I have had a few ppl ask me if i had a super charger on my car b/c of it. Even today, i adjusted the filter position on the pipe, and now i get even better performance.

My advice on CIA is to get the RR. You will be happy.

most intakes, both CAI and SRI give roughly the same gains... you gain very little top end power, and lose some low end torque... its a give and take.. but if you add an exhaust I believe you gain some low end tq back and gain a little more high end hp... for the money, Id be that RRMs will be the best for the buck... i mean, its only some piping and a filter! why pay an extra $100 or something for a name!

Did you have any warranty issues after installing the rrm intake?

I was looking at the CAI but had issues with being in Canada..... I didn't feel like getting it ripped off by a huge chunk of snow. Also there is the issue of a CAI being illegal in Canada. My short Ram works well......and if you want the cold air aspect of it....do what I did.....Put a hood scoop in it.

Hey Rallisport, did you cut a hood scoop in the stock hood, or did you get an aftermarket hood?

dude..i've been pondering this idea for the last few days....one of my friends was trying to talk me into it...i don't really want to cut a hole in my hood tho considering the warranty on the car, and i don't keep cars long.....hmmm...ok, i think i just talked myself out of it.....lol....but if you have pix, i'd love to see.....
