When my car is cold and i turn it on it makes like a loud scratching noise.... As soon as it warms up and i turn it off and on again it makes no noise..... What could that noise be?

 

Take the starter off and lube it? I had the same issue with a Maxima, really bad screeching on startup. Took apart the starter, greased internal parts, that made it perfect.

Just started happening to me a week ago, it's rather intermittent but happens on cold cold starts only too. Signs point to starter *shrugs shoulders* eh

 

how cold? like some other things, metal shrinks in the cold..lol, maybe closer tolerances may cause rubbing in the moving parts of the starter, like if there are different types of metal used..i dunno, i'd go with RalliartN's suggestion
