RRM sales pistons for our cars. Im not sure they themselves make them. A lot of the stuff they sale is manufactured by someone else.

i'm being a wise-***, i'm willing to bet the pistons RRM sells are wiseco customs that they ordered a bunch of...wiseco makes piston for the 4g69, but they are made as they are ordered...they're also under $500 as opposed to RRM's $800...

Yeah they do not manufacture pistons but i'm sure they know of who does. Contacting them and having them send you to the right place may work.

Yes, they are indeed Wiseco pistons and they are manufactured custom for RRM.

Not if the part can be purchased through the manufacturer cheaper. I contacted Wavetrac regarding an LSD and was actually told by one of their sales reps to contact RRM to inquire about the LSD for my Ralliart as Wavetrac manufactures one custom for RRM

I only called Wavetrac in the first place because on their website an EVO8/9 front LSD by Wavetrac is about $950, yet RRM sells their 4G69 LSD for $1,399...

both Quaife and Wavetrac LSD's that fit our transmission are manufactured for a 3g eclipse GS, and also work in the 4g eclipses GS...they are not custom for RRM for the lancer platform...i've posted the part numbers and cross references before...see if you can dig it up...the wavetrac MSRP is $1,095...i've seen Quaifes retail at $899. google the part numbers, you'll find one for hundreds less than RRM...i feel like a broken record...i should open a lancer parts shop myself, and get some competition going, their prices are crazy...

they are the same note the part number, for the 3g eclipse both v6 and i4 use the same diff as long as it's a 5 speed or auto...

by deduction, if the Quaife QDH7BR was designed for the 3g GS, but fist the lancer and 4g GS, then the wavetrac which is designed for the 4g should also fit the 3g GS, and thus the lancer.

appearently they must all fit the 3g GT as well...

I was hoping to see your car at the shootout...I was the only one rocking a 4g69

I know wiseco makes them specific to the 4G69, JE make 4G64 pistons that could work...which piston did you use?

Man I wish I could have been there. Had so much to do before the final move to Panama there was just no way for me to factor that in. Good representing the 4g69 What did everyone have to say? I had Manley make a custom 87.5 mm Platinum Import piston for me but they now know what works for these blocks and since their stroker piston is available off the shelf in 87 mm that should be good for anyone sticking to stock bore. If not I am sure they have can now easily reproduce mine.

A few guys stopped to look at the car, I got a few handshakes from guys that understood, and respected what I had done, most just turned up their noses, cause it wasn't a built evo that you could eat off the engine. I think a lot of people did not know what they were looking at, and how outside the box it was...

the funniest thing was when the staging guy sent me to the Evo staging lanes, then Buschur came by, looked at my car with a "WTF is that thing?" look on his face, and sent me to the DSM lane... I ran 13.8 @ 100 with shell 93 on street tires.

how much did those pistons run you?

Do they charge quite a lot more for the custom oversized piston?

I'm a big fan of your recent build. You are giving the 4g69 a really good name!
