how to remove roof trim molding?

how to remove roof trim molding?

Title say all. I want to remove the roof trim molding so I can sand it back and repaint it because it is peeling and chipping.

you pry it out with something thin. there's a special tool for it, if you want to get the right tool. it's part number mb990449, but you'd be better off googling "moulding removal tools". there are a bunch of clips as well...


new moulding is MR520288 for the right side, MR520287 for the left. I think they comes with the clips, but I'm not sure...about $90 each.

I apologize in advance as I am aware this is 5 years old.... I am only resurrecting this to see if anyone is aware if the part numbers listed above work for Evo's with sunroofs (I have an 03 gsr) because when you google search the part number both Mitsubishi parts direct and oem Mitsubishi part websites list it as "without sunroof" for fitment. Is there is a different part number for the sunroof models?
