Sad Thing Happened The Other Day

So I was driving home from my friends house. I was on a sorta busy road in my area, but it was at like 1:30 am. So im coming up to this curve in the road, and alittle after the bend there is a road off on the right. I slow down for the right turn, as I am shifting from 3rd to 2nd, my car does it's little downshift jerk. And as that happens I hit black ice. I try to slow down and all that, and nothing happens. My car just rockets into a stop sign, and a like 5ft bank of mud. My front fender flares ( of whatever there called ) broke off, my front bumper snapped in two. It is still attached and pretty secure, but it def. is trash. Luckily my bumper was the only thing damaged, my hood and sides and all that are still ok. Although my right headlight has a slight crack inside, but not to big..Just wanted to share my awful experience with you all.
I will post up picks of my front bumper and the scene of the accident shortly so you can get an idea.

sorry to hear about your bumper, my hood got messed up this past week so i feel your pain. Atleast it was only a stop sign and not a tree or anything.

RalliartJP - Just a question and a small piece of advice. Do you rev match when you downshift. If you do great...if not then that is probably the reason for what happend...

Yeah.. You definitely should blip that throttle before you let the clutch go. It's better for your tranny and motor mounts. It's also helps out defenseless stop signs.

I usually always rev match when I downshift. Just for some reason I didnt that night, it was late and I was just so tired. Carelessness got the best of me that night...

I lost my WRX that way.................. The rear kicked out on a down shift and sent me into a dirt bank..... The car flipped and we(My self, my wife and 16 year old daughter) landed on a split rail fence. One of the fence posts got behind the left rear wheel, but didnt break, so the car was *** up in the air when we stopped.
