You guys neglect the fact that in addition to advancing timing for higher octane gas (which usually adds 10-15 hp on any car), the setup also plays a vital role in the MIVEC setup. Believe me, a 20 whp from this piggyback would not be outlandish. The Ralliart is only pushing 162 out of 2.4 liters. There is lots of room for improvement in the NA department.

OK, I talked to ROCK for about 30 minutes about the details and expectations of the piggy back a while ago. He says the piggy should yield 10-15% gains with improvements throughtout the power band. Meaning 14-21 WHP possible increase. The dyno I have seen range the car from 141-144.5 WHP on the RA bone stock. CAI and a full catback should easily yeild 10WHP/ If other people are getting that with just a axle back and CAI, then a full exhaust do better. (guys get over the axle back cuz the RA has a 2 1/8" inner diameter piping and bigger piping WILL help) So with just doing a little innaccurate math you have 140+10+15=165WHP ina worst case senario. A hopeful, but not unreasonable guess of 180 WHP. But with the piggy back ROCK said the improvment will be most noticed in how quickly the car develops it peak horsepower and how fast peak TQ is acquired. That and how long both attributes are held. I am willing to bet on a good driver hitting 14.5 in the 1/4 mile. Rest assured fellas, it will happen. But I REP...GET TIRES!!!!!!!!!!!!

That and an LSD would also help.

That would be good if it were that simple to do..If I recall ROCK said in a post the RRM P-back doesn't adjust timing it re-calibrates the fuel mixture by doing so the can land an optimung A/F ratio and smooth the powerband to make more power. They specify higher octane bc's they probably leaned out the mixture to about 12.5-13 and by doing so if you put 87 gas the engine will automatically retard timing to combat detonation and lose some power. Contrary with 91+s octane the engine will advance timing like you said. Our engines have independant coils controlled by the computer by changing the A/F ratios it will react adv or retd ignition. Better gas = more timing advance; Crappy gas = lot of retard.
When RRM puts the dyno of the p-back then they can talk #'s. Right now the only measurement I have of the p-back is 15.10 at 87mph of RRM car. And that trapspeed of 87mph = about 145whp. I would love to see the p-back adding 15-20hp but right now there's no proof and I won't have my expectations that high on that specific product 6whp-10whp would be great anyways.. Don't get me wrong RRM has great products next week i will probably buy their spings/sway bar combo.

2.cents

If what you say is true, stand alone engine management may be the only worthy alternative.

I have the RRM CAI and I've landed a 15.031 which is better then RRM's car. And I don't even have the PB yet.

I myself agree with Thunder-rush. Over 200hp seems a little to high for me. I will have to wait to see dyno results myself. Until anything is tested and the numbers put up its all hype. Man you guys hitting your 15's huh.....you are as fast as the honda civic si in the 1/4 now!!!!!!WOW!!!! FLAME ON SUKA'S ....... JUST J/K

14.8 would put you in the best of the stock RSX Type S territory.
