Hello to all - New owner of 04 Ralliart

I picked up silver Ralliart 2 weeks ago today. I found the forum a couple days ago and just got the time to sit down and read up a bit. I got mine for 18 and some change and pay 375 per month. I'm working on the stereo right now and the performance things will come after that. Hopefully I can learn some things on the forums and I'll share what I find to be important or fun. Looking forward to some good car talk.

To get things moving I replaced my rear stocks with a pair of Infinity 2 way coaxials. The stock rears have their own mounting style so I had to create my own using .25 hard board. The picture I included isn't the greatest but I think you can see it okay.

Here is a picture of the stock 6 1/2. The speaker did sound okay for a stock unit but that doesn't make it sound good.

My replacements for the front are still on the way UPS. I will do coaxials up front this time also. I have always owned components but this car will be a bit louder than my other cars because of performance, so I'm not going to get to heavy into audiophile type sound quailty. To hold me off until a new box is built I installed a JL Audio 12w3v2 for low end bump and a JL e1200 to power it.

I'm actually going to be listing the sub and amp on ebay sometime next week to gear up the cash for the new system I would like to design for this car. Well thats all I've done thus far. Hopefully I'll be able to get more done sooner than later.

Congrats for a nice buy! Welcome to EvoM mate!

Did you say the rear speakers where 6 1/2"? So you had to tweak the new ones in... I was hoping it would be an easy fit... Well, can't always have it too easy...

Thanks for the pics! And if you can post some pics of the install and the final result that would be really cool too...

Peace!

The rear speakers are 6 1/2 and yes you have to tweak them in just a tad bit. To cut yourself a baffle should only take an additional 10 minutes of your time. I post pics as often as I can.

Congrats on your new RA. I purchased mine three weeks ago. I love it. Did your comes with the sun and sound package? Mine had the subwoofer in the trunk. The sound system is great from the factory. I didn't see a need to upgrade it.

Nope I didn't want the sun roof this time around. I got tired of cleaning it up on my 02 Accord. I live in Arizona and the dust is just a mess. I can't spend the extra money on upgraded audio equip from the maker. I know that extra 1000 bones they're raping me for can get me alot better sound if I do it myself. But hey, to each his own - it just depends on what your ears like.
