what does burnt clutch smell like?
Ok, I admit I probably sound like a dumb crap asking this; but all my previous experence is with modified autos, so I don't know. I know what hot brakes smell like and all, but I have no idea what a burnt clutch smells like. I don't drive my car hard, and only launch fast occasionaly; also I'm decent at driving manual so I don't think I could be burning it; but I want to know what it smells like so I can know just incase (I'm going to the track soon also
).

brakes arent as nauseating
tires you will know when you burnt those up

btw, its not easy to burn your clutch. i rarely do it and the only times i have ever done it when i was going up the steepest hill ever on the first day of getting the car and i didnt lift off the clutch all the way for a long time and after i got up the hill it started smelling.
the other time was when i let my friend drive the car. im not sure what he did, but he effed it up pretty bad.

ya a burt clutch does stink kinda like a dead bird, but look the only way you burn them is if the clutch is slipping and you can tell if the clutch is slipping or not right when you launch. If you want to test your clutch: put your e-brake on; push down on the clutch pedal; put it in first gear; and let out slowly untill you feal the car try to pull pretty good then stop. If the clutch doesn't grab untill very late then the clutch might be worn or something. Don't know if this off-topic crap will help you, but what the hey, I posted it
