Anyone try this or have any feedback on them as a company??

 

I like the B&M cause it comes with a new shift knob...

I don't care about a shift knob. Shift knobs don't make the device function any better.

 

Well, the good thing for the twm short shifter is that it cuts down 2 inches, which is 1 inch greater than b&m's. But b&m comes with a new shift knob. Well, i would choose the twm, since its shorter. You can always buy another shift knob later but you cant make the short shifter 1 inch shorter unless you buy another short shifter that fits your requirements.

 

One thing i would like to notify. If you want to sell things in the web, please make a good web page, that would definitely make you more trustworthy. Since twmperformance.com looks like those 5 minute web page i throw out to people, it doesnt look that trustworthy. The title of the page is "Untitled Document". Please get it fix if your reading this....

Hey, I'm going to ask a really dumb question here. I've seen these in all the magazines and I was actually thinking of getting one of these, but my question is. Does this kit have everything you need in it? Or is there anything else that you should pick up? I've seen alot of the other post where people are talking about underhood bushings? What are they and should you switch those as well?

 

This kit does not include the plastic shift retainer, which you'll have to buy from your local Mitsu dealership (about $20). Also does not include the underhood bushings. You do not need these, but they're definitely a worthwhile investment to improve shift feel.

I would also concider picking up 2 pivot caps from the mitsu dealer. Most kits do not come with these. You have to pry them off of the old shifter and place them on the new one. I just started to install the speed source short shifter and one of the caps broke. I went to mitsu today and ordered two of them for good measure..4.75 each... they won't be in until thursday though, which means a $4 tiny piece of plastic is stopping me from driving my car for 4 days. Yee haw.

Speedsource.com is a good place for the underhood bushings. There are only two bushings, and the install is simple. Also consider getting the bushings that go on the shifter assembly, they really tighten up your shifts.

What did you use to remove the pivot caps? I used a flat head screw driver and had no issues.

I would recomend the underhood bushings for sure they make shifting more solid and precise not slightly loose.

You only need the top mount from mitsu if you don't want to cut the stock shifter in half.

i put them on the side of my work bench and gave them a wack, they popped right off.

 

I'd be wary of their claim of cutting two inches off the throw. They're listing these as for the stock lancers. The RA's have the evo shifter, not the base lancer shifter, so I doubt we'd get a 2" drop in throw.

 

Ok so thus far no one can substantiate ANY of the claims b/c NO ONE has actually used one....lets get some one here who can speak from exp.
