Question Mystery headlight bulbs

I order some bright white bulbs for my RA. Then, today, I noticed a small bulb in the housing with the headlight. So I did some testing, and found that it comes on when the parking lights and when the headlights are turned. At first I thought it might be the daytime driving lights, but nope.
Does anyone know the purpose of this light, do you think it will effect the light color of my new bulbs, and how you get at it? I think I may have to pull the whole assembly out to get at it.

When I was in my accident, the guy at the body shop was able to just pull the plug out that the bulb is attached too.. It didnt look too difficult. What kinda bulbs are everyone using for hyper whites and all that? Which bulbs would be the best bang for your buck too?

To remove the bulb you just have to twist the plug.

The bulb you are refering to is a 5W5 bulb, which is identical to a 194 bulb, HOWEVER a 194 bulb is a significantly lower wattage, therefore will be dimmer, but will still look ok, i tried using an LED but since they are directional, the overall effect is not as vibrant......HOWEVER there is a few out there that use a 194 (5W5) socket that are wide angle....they might work
