rrm intake

I took off my intake to clean it. Well I didn't really need to clean it, but took the filter and everything off to see if it wasn't dirty and etc. The end rubber piece of my K&N filter had a cut on it, maybe the clamps were on to tight. So I had to tape it up doing it the ghetto way for now. I contacted K&N and they are gonna send me another one for free or charge under the warranyty, but with the proof of receipt and etc. Also behind the filter where the foglight housing is with the wires and all that stuff, the foglight wires looked like they were detiorating ( sorry if i mispelled it). I had to push the intake back a few inches. Just letting you guys know, if you have the rrm intake you should check out the your filter and stuff now and then. Overall I think the intake is the best out there still, I might take off the bottom piece and leave just the end piece on for the sri conversion, damn rain sucks *** 8- ( But I've been driving in the rainy weather with my intake running over huge *** puddles in VA. Nothing happened so far, and I love it!!!! RRM You guys own!!!!!! Hurry up I am waiting for the turbo!!!!!!!!!!! WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEEEEE

I found out about the rubbing of the intake to the wires when I installed mine. I moved them out of the way by unclipping them from the wire loom and moving them out of the way as far as possible. Also, did you notice paint chipped from the piping from hitting the fraimrail? Mine bangs the fraimrail all the time, even though I adjust it every week or two.

hmm, mine has quite a bit of clearance. Not too close to the fog lines or anything. Did you put your plastic guards back on under the intake? If no, no wonder its taking so much abuse =]

yea i put all the plastic guards back on, but that isn't it. The intake filter is right behind the foglight housing. Also yes, My **** hits the fraimrail when I start my car up sometimes and shifting sometimes. But I think its because the filter is being held on my tape and some silicone **** for now til i get the new filter I will readjust my intake and everything. But i think i got everything good now since I know what the problems were 8- )

I contacted K&N about my defected filter, and they told me to fax my receipt and etc last friday. I didn't receive the damn filter yet so I called today to see what was up. When I called they told me that I wasn't supposed to call them for my damn filter cause I bought it through RRM. I didn't know that I wasn't supposed to, but one of the stupid representatives at K&N told me to fax the info. That stupid *** B****!!!!!!! But anyway, I contacted RRM and I left them my info, but they haven't called me up yet and let me know when they are going to send my filter and etc. Lets just hope that RRM is quicker than K&N's gay *** Tech support. K&n makes good products but their services suck ***!!!!!!

i guess the frame rail is that large white thing thats in front of the end of the air filter. The intake piping doen't have any dings or anything on it yet. You said that I can bang that thing with a hammer to move it out the way, are you sure about this? I hope im not mistaking the frame rail for another part, but I believe its that large white thing covered in a plastic compartment

no no no, ok you know how the ver 1. intakes goes straight down and then bends and heads towards the foglight cavity, about an inch or 2 after the bend, it passes underneath the outside of the engine compartment, it's part of the body and it angles downward towards the front of the car, when I installed the intake it rested about 1/4 inch below that, and it hit it occasionaly, so now I changed the angle and it now has about an inch and 1/2 clearance and it doesnt bang anymore.

You can bend the strap a little and move it away from fog light. Easy for those of you who tightened the clamps in certain orientation where it thrusts filter toward front of the car. Follow up with us about the filter if K&N does not come through.

From the help of RRM, they are sending me a new filter. K&N suck's ***, I will never buy their stuff ever again. With all this trouble they put me through just to get a replacement filter. I even had the warranty card within the K&N filter box that came with the rrm intake and they said that "Oh sorry sir we cannot replace that item because it was on another intake kit." Thats some stupid Bull**** those asses, I mean if you buy an intake filter, WTF are you going to put it on? YOu have to put that damn filter on something right? I don't even feel like talking about K&N they suck!!!!!! RRM RULESSSSS thanks to rob he is sending another filter out. I really appreciated the help. Can't wait for the RRM ralliart turbo kit either!!!!!!!!
