only if it causes a problem and the dealer proves it was the cause. i've never really heard of a CAI causing a problem though. everyone worries about hydrolock, but so long as you don't drive through water over 6 inches, you're fine.
what they said.
waht are you looking for from the intakes tho? if you are a total n00b, most think youll get huge gains from an intake. if thast what you think then dont. you wont get much of a diff.
what are your plans for the future? if you plan on going turbo sometime then youll have to take the intake off so you amy want to save you money if you are going that route.
with the exhuast, what do you want? id you just want sound then jsut get the muffler. if you want performance save for the catback.
if you want to make any real gains not going turbo then youll have to get several mods such as intake, catback, test pipe, headers, reflashed ecu or piggy back, etc.

well the last time i talked to a person at mitsubishi, they told me that they can void your powertrain warranty if your using a cai and don't have a bypass valve on it. That is, only if something bad does occur and they blame it on your cai and you don't have a bypass valve on it. Bypass valve's are **** anyway, if your gonna get cai dont get a bypass valve, it doesnt even stop water, its jus a piece of sponge if you submerge your car, trust me that sponge doesnt help. But yea go ahead and get that RRM Cai it rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

u could always just throw the old crappy stock intake on and show up at the dealer... "um yea... my engine.. just stopped... working... what the hell?"

hey ralliart, it doesnt work that way. You put an intake in, something goes wrong, u put your old stock intake back in. Take it to the dealer, they hook it up to the machine and the ecu will read that you car was getting more air intake tham it was supposed to and blah blah. They will do a lot of stupid **** and try to blame it on whatever you did to the car. I hate dealers, but if you reset your ecu and know how to do all that then your straight

Bypass valves do work - 100% effective. That "little piece of sponge" opens up when the pressure goes up in the intake (the pressure would go up if you submerse one end in water) and allows the air to enter from that hole where the sponge is instead of the filter. Trust me - it works! I have seen it with my own eyes, as have many members on the forum. This has been discussed numerous times and if you do a search you'll see. It looks so simple, people don/'t beleive it works - IT DOES.
well today i drove to the RRM warehouse and they installed my CAI for 40$ so a total of $269 , damn my car sounds dope now. The guys at RRM are chill guys and hooked it up , props to them . But yeah i called my dealership and they said it wont void my warrenty , so i guess its all good , but yeah next mod is ROAD/RACE Axel Back Exhaust
i wonder how much that would be to install since im a newb at cars.
