You drive a decent car you want to try to hide that? I agree with the first responce "oposite rice" Why do people try to pretend or fool people into thinking they have something they don't the slow as$ cars with the racing spoilers and body work .. or fast cars that are striped of decals and all the awesome trim that really sets them apart... seems kinda immature to me but whatever you want to do.

Dude, there's nothing sleeper about a normally aspirated lancer period. Unless the motor has been thoroughly worked, most vehicles on the road will beat you in any sort of a race. To call your OZ a sleeper cause shaved the badges is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard of. Sorry, but that's just lame.

I also HAPPEN to have come up on a shiny new chrome "ES" label.

So guys what do you think. Should I go deceptive sleeper and throw on the chrome stock "ES" badge?

Oh, and just to clarify, what the term sleeper is in relation to the automotive industry. A sleeper is a car that is fast, and wins races, but doesn't look like it can, ie; a wolf in sheeps clothing; aka a chevy celebrity station wagon with a supercharger and nitrous with no exterior mods or an Evolution with an OZ body kit.

I was waiting to see who would finally say something like that. But truly, unless you have lots of mods that can make your car go fast, I too don't understand how you can make a stock RA a sleeper, of course that is assuming that you are stock. No offense but I wouldn't exactly call a RA fast. It is faster than most econo box but it is no where I can call a stock RA fast. However, that's just my opinion and no one elses.

RA will be a sleeper if you throw in a IC turbo, CAI, forged pistons, header, and an @$$ pounding exhaust with just stock body kits. That would be awesome to see. It can whoop any WRX or civics out there. GO TURBO TECH PR!!!!

OK, we are all pretty well knowing what a sleeper is. And a Ralliart can pretty much take apart most of the cars in its class. A regular lancer gets pretty well beat up and thats the reason for the "ES" label. That and the chrome badge looks better than the black plastic ralliart label. My car isnt totally stock, but its kinda close. CAI, cat-back, springs, tires.

You could put the ES badge on and stick a "Type R" sticker below.

To me, a sleeper means keeping the Exterior COMPLETELY stock. Changing nothing. Any modification gives away that you're workin on the car. debadging tells that you are tryin to be a sleeper.. hah to me anyway. You'll see by my car, i didn't go that route. HA. But i would love to with my next car. Boe at RRM had the best sleeper lancer at one time i'd say. peace

Sleeper totally.

I actually call it "stealth mode." I debadged my trunk except for the Ralli///Art sticker. I also blacked out the front Mitsu symbol and did the mesh grill conversion. I also got some gunmetal grey rims on her. The outside is all done.

Now I am focusing on power and handling mods.

Its just soooo funny to watch people check out my car. The other day there where 2 guys in their early 20s walking around it and checking it out. I overheard them talking about it.

"WTF kind of car is this?"
"Dunno. Looks tight though."
"Whats a Ralli///Art?"

MUAHAHAHA!!

Same thing happens at gas stations. I love it.

BTW, I am looking for another Ralli///Art badge if someone gets rid of theirs. PM me. Thanks.

I actually overheard two teenagers arguing whether my RA was "the new Saab" or "the baby Lexus". Now granted, anyone with car knowledge knows it doesn't look like these cars (altezza lights do not a Lexus make) , but I find it funny that people are wondering.

What's with all the EVO VIII owners surfing the ralliart section just to call it slow!? And true, I dont understand this fad of calling any new car a sleeper, a true sleeper to me is like a mid 80's rust bucket that looks like it's top speed is about 50mph, but when it lays on the gas it blows your doors off. Your car wont really be a sleeper unless you paint all the body panels different colors, install a fake rusty muffler but have the real exhaust ending mid body.

Buick Grand National. The ultimate sleeper. Almost no one knows what this is and it has to be the most fun car ever built. Making this car run a 10 sec 1/4 doesn't take much and it looks like an old pos. If you want a sleeper track down one of these and save some money from buying a new ralliart.
