im gonna sound like an idiot for asking this but...

the other day i was backing in my moms van into our driveway and my ralliart was parked in, so as i slowly backed it in i stopped, parked and got out, to see that i wasnt fullyin driveway but still had room. So i went back just a tad bit more when i heard a crunch noise. out of fear and an "oh sh*t" mental response, i pulled forward again to check on my ralliart. it was rear in as well, so the front bumper was hit by the rear bumper of our 91 previa. so anyway, i inspected it, and theres no physical damage. but the thing is, i can grab the bumper and it moves just a tiny bit in the up and down direction. my question is, do your bumpers move just a tiny bit too? am i just experiencing paranoia over my new baby? or could my front bumper actually be loose? oh, and it seems that underneath the headlights, there is a like 1 cm gap between the bottom of the light and the bumper... now is this also something im being paranoid over or should i really get this thing checked out?

You could have the dealer inspect it, but... the car (I believe it's required now) has 5 mph bumpers, the idea being that the car must be able to come away from a 5 mph dead-on collision against either of the bumpers with no damage.

Nobody that askes any question is an idiot. The ony truely silly question is the one not asked. Thats what these forums are for. Q&A.

The RISE chassis is designed to crumble. It might just be some foam that got squished. otter had an excellent idea. Have the dealer check it under your warantee. It might just be some very simple foam pieces that need replaced. It might be the front crush bar.

Keep us posted.

the front bumper is held on by some pretty flimsy clips, it's possible one or more of them cracked. my bumper isnt loose, but I have a 1cm gap under my right headlight and none under my left headlight, wierd!

but in all seriousness, i wont have to worry about driving around, hitting one of the many random bumps/potholes in the road here in NJ at like 45, 50mph, and then suddenly having my bumper fall off right?

right, your bumper isn't just gonna take flight if you hit a bump in the road, stick with otter's reply and take it to the dealer
