I talked to my Mitsu dealer yesterday, and he informed me that the ralliart sportback will be no more after this year. He said the sales for the sportback were nearly non-existant. Anyone else hear this?
i dunno. in my area, i have yet to see antother RA on the road that IS NOT a sportback. but, then again, 1/2 of my area is old retired ppl. i dont know anyone who is very active here that drives a sportback.
i f*in love the sportback...well the first thing i would do is probably get an 02-03 front conversion on it and it'd be a JDM Cedia Wagon!
put a snow board rack, big off road fog lights maybe even the kenstyle bodykit or something...**** would be hot.
sucks that they plan to drop that model.
hopefully i can get a good used one in the future.

All sportbacks are being discontinued, or just Ralliart ones? If it's just Ralliart ones I'm not suprised. If you consider the target audience and the lack of manual transmission, what else would you expect?
Edit: That's not to say that the lack of manual transmission was the only reason, just that it was a contributer. The other major one is probably the Volvo-like rear styling. I actually like how those Volvos look, but let's face it, the Ralliart's front and a Volvo wagon's rear just don't go together!
If the wagon came with a manual transmission and had better rear styling, I would've strongly considered it.

yeah they should have mad e the rear end different. Actually the only wagon i've ever liked just came out and that is the dodge magnum......I don't know why, but I think that is a sweet wagon especially with the hemi in it.
Ya, the Sportback has been cancelled. It was a shame they didn't do enough marketing research on it to see if it would work out. Mazda and Dodge are bringing wagons back in the mainstream with some good looking Audis on the way. Mitsu failed on that one. Oh well. We only sold three and have one left.
The Outlander is more of a baby 'ute then a wagon, but yes it will have to take up the slack as a wagon. They are going to have a manual tranny available in the Outlander next year. Maybe they will come up with a Ralliart version.
I waited for the Sportback to come out and when it turned out to be auto only i got the Yellow RA sedan. It made no sense to me to buy a semi performance vehicle with an auto trans. The RA may not be a traditional sports car but it is a great ride and an out of the park deal at the price.
