difference between V and H rated tires

I am looking at some tires for my new rims but cant decide on which tire to get. I am comtemplating an "H" rated tire since I am moving up to a 215/40. Do yall think I will notice the difference in rubber stickyness(if thats a word) since I am going with a wider and lower profile tire.

i understand that. But the reason the speed ratings are different is the construction of the tire and quality of rubber. Z rated tires tend to be "stickier" and have better traction, but I am wondering how much of a difference it really is. Is it a mental thing or do they really perform "that much better".

You won't necessarily notice a difference in stickiness between the two. Speed rating can change for the same make/model of tire, depending on the size you want. It's still the same rubber.

the only thing i am concerned about is loosing traction. I feel that the stock tires are sufficient, but since I am getting 17's I need new tires. I looked at getting the same tires for the new rims but they were hella expensive compared to Nittos or even BFG's. I am on the fence about whether to get 205/40 or 215/40 and what speed rating to go with. I am comtemplating the Nitto Neo Gen in the 205/40ZR17 since discount sells them for $65 each.
