you mean every one has a CV8Z , if thats what it is called. sold as GTO in the U.S. yea you can probably beat some mustangs stock , it takes a seriously moded Evo to take this holden down or , well if you are stock you ll be spec in my rear view mirror

I like the g8 and would consider it, except for the fact that an evo x gsr would only be a few grand more. If it were the same price as a ralliart (the gt) I'd probably get the g8.

The CV8Z costs about 70,000 australian $ new , thats quite a bit of money , used ones are around $50k
MONARO
thats the exact the same car sold as the GTO , we get a 6.0 Ls2 instead of the5.7

the G8( commodore) is more common there and has base models aswell. 29k for new G8 GT is not bad. considering a fully loaded accord or camry costs that much. and you can even compare in the power department. the 6.0 is detuned to 87 fule ,,thus less hp , a good tune and free flowing exhaust , you are looking at 400+.

so the RA and G8 are completly different cars and both have different features and it is very difficult to compare

The G8 is a nice car. I am not a big fan of red cars but i saw one driving red w/ dark tints and it looks mean. If i was u i would wait for the manual unless u lookin for auto but comparin it to the RA is like comparing girls to guys, it makes no sense. Now if u can knock a couple grand off the G8 go for it then u will have the fastest car around 25K, lol.

The manual might not be smooth enough if they use the T56,
shifter in the muscle cars is a workout.

ur right some cars aren't meant to have manual tranny and come to think of it this might be one. Mustangs, Camaro, Vettes, etc yes. Big heavy sedans not really.

I have owned all sorts of cars in the past and when I got my GTO the shifter was horrible . I ordered a Race shifter from Australia which made the car 1000x better but still its not as smooth as other cars in its class. so far I liked the Acura's and Bmw M3s(upgraded) shifter to be one of the best.
GXP is supposed to carry an LS3 engine and let see how the car performs.

G8 is an impressive package for what they crammed into it however, I think for DD comfort and looks I will still go with the RA.
