Sweet! guess I was the first??? anyway I'm really loving the car, see you on the road, got about 200k on it now. Like I said before.... I test drove the new wrx a day before I did the RA and I think it's worth the extra for the fit and finish difference, the Nav, bluetooth, better seats, and the SST (awesome) only complaint so far is the suspension is a little wimpy at highway cornering speeds, (tires are whimpy too) it's firm around town but I think I"ll be doing springs and a rear swaybar as the first upgrade, then wheels of course. going to post some pics I took tonight of it if I can figure it out..

I checked out the new Ralliart at my local dealership in Richmond, BC. The base price is $34460, with Recaro and HID. no Bluetooth no FASTKey. The premium package is another 5000 dollars with Navi/Sunroof/Sound, not sure about the leather Recaro. I wonder if its any sense to trade in my 16KKm 08GTS for this fast creature. My dealer gave me a quote of 18000 cdn for the trade-in. How to negotiate for the best prices since i know it's a brand-new model and it seems everyone wants it.

Yes, it's very disappointing -- especially with so few details about features, warranty, etc. -- but what's so complicated about the following official prices (MSRP)?

2009 Ralliart (base): $32,998

2009 Ralliart (premium): $37,998

I know they're not on the web site, but those are the official prices, and they have both been posted here. The extra (delivery, aka price-gouging) charges are the same as on other Lancers. No mysteries here.

By the way, if you haven't done so already, visit http://www.lancerralliart.ca.

I think the suspension is awesome. Its very stiff IMO. The WRX is a POS suspension wise. the only thing im gonna do to mine is tint the windows and get new wheels. It looks pimp stock. I get so many looks driving through town.

Mine has the buttons on the steering wheel for bluetooth. Haven't tried to figure it out though.

Agreed the suspension is stiff for daily driving but do a corner with some 'spirit' behind it and you'll see what I mean about soft. I really think the sway bars are underrated for the car. Of course I"m coming from a tuned 540 bmw so my standards are high. I must say the AWD drift is dang fun!!

The 'Hustlers' had no interest in negotiating, which is not surprising. You want new and cool, buck up unfortunately. And for the 5K the sued recaro's kick ***. speaking of if your *** is big forgedaboutit!!! this car is NOT made for bigger people let along average. I"m 5'7 and a 31 waist, and it's TIGHT. The Nav is awesome and the FastKey is a really nice feature. I love the bluetooth. I"m told from some of my clients that it's beter than the new BMW hands free for clearness. and of course the adjustable HID's amaze!
that's my 2cents

yeah I figured there wouldn't be room for negotiating (faint hope). I've sat and oogled at the MR Premium at the dealer and being 5'10" and 34 waist I was actually fine in the seats. I really like the suede and leather feel and look of the seats and interior. The WRX seats and interior are no comparison. Seats lack the side support of the Recaro's. The HID is the other feature that I've gotta have.
Just can't beat a pair of seats that say Recaro's!

I'm just a bit disappointed the CAN RA gets all season tires versus the summer ones on the US RA, as I was planning on keeping the stock tires. NOw it looks like i'll probably replace the all season ones with summer ones...more $$$.

I decided not to go for the Premium package...mostly because they didnt have any in stock and I didnt feel like driving out to Kelowna on the pretense of POSSIBLY buying a car. I envy your FAST-key though. That's the only feature from the package I wish I could get, mostly because its the only feature that can't be worked around with after-market parts.

Exactly what I"ll be doing, yay I was a little disapointed with the tires too, but mostly of mitsu's lack of giving it a little more individuality from the GTS. Lets be honest... as a car enthusiast, first thing you see or look at is the wheels! Australia got a cool wheel that is different, now that would have been nice!! I"ll be putting winters on the stock rims ( yes I know they are 18's) and upgrading in the spring for some cool wheels and wider tires that it desperately needs!
