Hey, I heard that Vortex Generators work really well....what are your opinions?

 

Only if they're properly engineered to compliment the aerodynamics of the car -- the IX had one because Mitsu's engineers determined that it benefited the car.

The British Evo X FQs have one again this product cycle, but I'm not fully convinced whether it's because it needs them, or because after the IX, the public just expects it to be there.

There is a 3rd party clone of the X VG, but the aerodynamic advantages aren't clear. With the Ralliart low-profile spoiler, I'd say it's an even bigger question mark.

Buy a VG for a Ralliart because you like the look, not for the aero advantages it is supposed to provide.

The Evo Xs roof is different than the Ralliarts. Ralliart does not have the two bumps on it, so a completely different one would have to be made. Unless they have GTS ones.

 

Plus, I believe they work in conjuction with a wing designed for it.

The only way those work is if you buy 3 or 4 and put them inline, then you really have a vortex in there I don't know how those guys stay in business.

 

Alright thanks cuz a friend of mine suggested it n I'd rather ask other ppl than just take his word

 

I can just say at about 145 ish I can really feel the wing pushing down, Does the Generator help, well if you ask my friend from Boeing who is an Engineer, He says yes. I so far don't know but it sure looks good and I understand the concept. Works for me

 

I wouldnt trust these pics to decide either. Understand that these pics are from 17 year old 08 Lancer owners who also want their LED dome lights and turn signals to be as blue as possible.
