Ralliart Turbo Information

The Ralliart's turbo is a TD04HL, as per Super Street Magazine.

EDIT: (Yes, we already pretty much knew this, but it's another source.)

bad. And actually the article suggest , the direct swap will be hard or costly , if you need a X intercooler set up or turbo.

"However, the Ralliart's B411's similarities to the Evo X end there. It relies on a smaller, single-scroll TD04HL turbo and an intercooler that differs so much in design, it would be cost-prohibitive, not to mention extremely inefficient, to swap the parts from a X over to create a poorman's GSR"

Depends on what you're going for. If it's a 13T turbo like in the WRX, it'll have wicked low end and mid end power but it'll suffer from exhaustion in the higher RPM range. This makes it great around town and for autocrossing but on the track it runs out of steam on the longer stretches.

Wasn't this already proven to be the case in the WRX/MS3/RA/Cobalt comparison?

Yep, which is why I figured it was a TD04 13T like the older WRX.

I don't think swapping will be a big deal some day. People are selling IX turbos for under $600, manifolds for $100, for $700 you could have a bolt-on evo turbo on your ralliart. Not sure what the deal is with the FMIC not fitting, I will not believe a thing until we see this car in the hands of some of the big tuners here in the US.

do you need to swap out a turbo from an Evo or can you get another turbo which would fit from another car and put that sucker in?

Well, ideally the evo manifold/turbo setup bolts right on. As long as there is similar clearance between the engine and the firewall, we would be seeing turbo kits that were developed for the evo bolt right onto the ralliart!

C'mon now, someone has bought the ralliart, take off a few things and get some up-close pics of the numbers on the compressor cover and turbine housing!

The exhaust is the same and so is the head manifold studs. Should be a simple swap to install the EVO X turbo & manifold. Possible some aftermarket hoses for the compressor outlet but that's minor.

If this is true then there is no reason you can't bolt up a FP RED from the X on it right? BVP already went 10.7, so throw in some bolt-ons and you got a quick little mother****er. Lets see who gets there hands on one first.

It's the intercooler that may pose an issue since the Ralliart has the battery under the hood while the Evos is in the trunk. That difference is likely one of the reasons that the intercoolers are different between the two cars as it may be due to packaging issues, intercooler or intercooler hose clearance. Time will tell as you know someone will try it...
