I do think a tune is worthy for this car. It runs rich un-nessissarily. I do alot of hwy and city every day (2800Km now). For Me, Hwy is about 22-23 average and city is 18 root'n on it and 19-20 normal driving. I find in Normal mode daily driving the shifting is almost too eager to get into a higher gear to keep the rpms down for comsumption. I find it gets to 6th as fast as possible and i'm only doing 60-70KM/hr and I'm regulary down shifting manually to keep some sort of throttle response available above 2k rpm.

You guys are right. I am 92% city driving but on my first tank of gas I had made two trips on our 407 Toll high way. Cruzing at 120 Kms ( 3,00 rpm) I had driven for about 40 minutes each way. I ended up with 320 Kms with the Tank on Empty warning. Not sure what the reserve is but I am still a bit shocked. I did not buy the car for its fantistic gas mileage plus its an all wheel drive but still......I really hope that an updated flash from will be the solution to the car running too rich. ( if thats the problem)

I had a 2007 RX-8 and that was giving me about 345 kms driving fairly hard. The rotary loves to rev and is known to be a bit of a pig on gas. I am still happy with the RA love the way it feels in every way but damn... lets hope gets this sorted fast.

You are right about that. It does seem to want to get to 6th in a hurry. The minute you touch the gas it upshifts and holds the gear in a higher rpm. When does the turbo spool up and what would be its limit on the rpm band? I think I can hear it spool on as little as 2500 rpm ( pending on throttle postion) but I am wondering if it will still turn at its 6500 rpm redline. Just curious

I just did 3 tanks of gas.
1st: 22mpg
2nd: 20mpg
3rd: 19mpg

I did it the normal way. Filling it up and dividing the mileage by the # gallons I filled up. Mostly city driving. I'll try cruise control the next time.

I now have over 3500km on my RA and I"ve been consistant over the past few days with a 25.5 hwy (80km commute per day hwy) and 19 or better city. I think the engine is finally loosening up a bit.

I've noticed that it will drop 2 off that if you are doing 120km/hr rather than 110km/hr on the hwy. wind resistance at higher speeds is not friendly for our blunt nose cars.

I don't know about that, my 76 vette gets 19-20 average of city and highway (mostly city) with a 30 year old engine. New vettes reach 30mpg on highway and boast 400+hp.

While this car does have AWD, I really think this car could do alot better. This fact, aside from the current status of our economy, are the two factors that have turned me off to this car.

Bluevette, teh only problem with your arguement is that the RA is probably double the power of your 76 Vette, and much heavier to boot.

I seem to consistently manage 10 L/100km on local highways (driving about 100 km/h average) -- probably would be a bit worse on major highways going faster (about 120-130 km/h average), but I haven't gone on any hour-plus long trips in the Ralliart yet (max. about an hour each way). On city streets, I get about 15 L/100km, including some slow rush-hour traffic.

US translation:

I seem to consistently manage 24 mpg on local highways (driving about 60 mph average) -- probably would be a bit worse on major highways going faster (about 75 mph average), but I haven't gone on any hour-plus long trips in the Ralliart yet (max. about an hour each way). On city streets, I get about 16 mpg, including some slow rush-hour traffic.

I have put around 1500 kms on my RA since end of November. It is pretty hungry for gas, I am driving roughly 80-90 km a day in a mixed mode, it averages around 12.5-14 l/100km. I am really hoping Mitsu will come out with an official reflash next year.

Since I learned that this tranny actually learns your shift points. I put it in Manual showed my tranny how i want it to shift. Now i leave it on auto for my commute. I get 22 mpg average. It went as high as 24mpg.

I see 19city/24 highway. Something like an evo.
280miles on the trip = 11.5 gallons today. 24.34mpg.
