Tint Windows & window guard??

I was wondering if the 09 RAs have the same issue with the 08 evoX in terms of requiring installation of a window accessory when getting tints.

The window accessory I'm referring to is to prevent the tint from scratching when the windows are lowered down. I don't know the exact term for this window piece.

Cheers

You are talking about the belt mouldings. They are the little trim pieces on the inner and outer of the glass where the bottom of the glass would meet the sheetmetal of the door.

Im not sure if you will have issues with this though. I would think they would have the same issue if I had to guess.

I think you're refering to moleskins or whatever they have for it, and I think they fixed that problem on the 09's

I just got my windows tinted 35% all around and it does look really good. Literally a couple of hours ago. I'm hoping I like it in the long run because it's just so damn subtle during even a cloudy day. They checked it out and you don't need any extra stuff. $236.00 not too shabby either.

Yea, that's what I was thinking. But you gotta remember some shops charge extra for 4 doors. That's extra on top of the fact that its 4 doors and not 2.

That's how much it runs out here in Wisconsin and there are two competing tint places across from each other.

We just spent 20's on brand new cars and thats a lot? How much did you spend on tint? I went with the 3M tint and not the Lumar stuff.

15% all the way around with 3M? Not just the rear?

Well, 2 door plus the hatch, not that that matters but I think it was $145. True, if I had a 09 Ralliart I would have no problem spending $200+ on tint. It would hurt a little but it's something I wouldn't mind, but only if that was the quote I was getting from all of the tint places.

Yea, I understand, it is pretty steep but if they do a good job than I wouldn't have a problem with it. My friend once paid $269 for tint and that's pretty much what he got. (69) Looked like someone upchucked on his windows. Long as the tint shop does a good job...
