I think the turbo will bolt right in but it's a 100% sure thing, remember, there was a time when people thought aftermarket Evo exhausts would bolt right in but apparently the two systems are slightly different. The only thing that could present a problem is the TCU, if it's engaging the safe mode with a simple reflash, you can bet it will be engaged once you get the extra power that a bigger turbo, FMIC and tune will give. If you're not doing this in the next month though, one of the big tuners on here will likely have cracked the code and figured out what can be done. 280 HP is easily possible, with just the Zchip you can get that. I would shoot for 330 HP and see how that works.
Edit: Something you might want to keep in mind is what you're going to do with the car. If you just want more power during your day to day driving, I would suggest you keep the stock turbo and just mod around it (exhaust, FMIC, tune, maybe cams) rather than switch over to a larger turbo that will give you more peak HP and torque but that may move those peaks higher up. How often are you at 6000 RPM? I'm in a similar situation as I have to decide whether I want to keep my stock turbo or move to the STI turbo. It's a really hard choice.
