Coilovers better than stock?

Hello evom peeps,
Tax return is coming around and im sure everyone is waiting paitently and pondering what to buy next for our cars. I was thinking about either exhaust from BR or a nice good set of coilovers.

Just a few questions for you experts lol.
With coilovers, is my reliabilty still good? ride comfort, will I blow out the suspension in anyway? or will it improve reliability, performace and looks? IS there anything else I need to purchase with them?

Just curious, in case I get them. I need yall's input.

Thanks

If its a full coilover system and not just the sleeve type then you dont need anything else to buy and shouldnt mess up the suspension, because with a full coilover system, if Im not mistaken replaces everything. I could be wrong about that though. Is there any RA spec coilover systems out now?

It depends on what spring rate the coilovers are which determine how soft/harsh the ride will be. As long as the coilovers come with a top caster plate or the holes that connect into the steering knuckle are lobed then that's all you'll need (most come with either or), that way you can get a proper alignment. If you buy from a reputable company (Tein, etc.) reliability should be no problem. It'll defintely improve handling with a stiffer spring, and you'll have slightly more room for a wide tire. Obviously you can adjust the ride height to wherever you prefer, so the looks are all up to you. I'm eagerly awaiting coilovers for the RA.

I'd go with some nice rims and tires first, if you don't already have some.

Here's the thing with coilovers, unless you're willing to pay a lot of money (ie. 3000$+), you'll have to make a lot of sacrifices. It's a massive misconception that simply stiffening up the suspension will make the car handle better. If the suspension is too stiff, the car can be twitchy and dangerous and if the front/rear ratio is thrown off, it can affect things like understeer and oversteer. There is a reason why people who actually race buy high level coilovers and get them tuned to match the car. If you buy a cheaper kit, you can expect a harsher ride. Some people can put up with this while others can't. With some kits, harsh is a massive understatement. I had Ksports on my Lancer and they were horrible. I was actually sore after riding in my car. Reliability can absolutely plummet as well, some people were blowing out their Ksport coilovers in less than a year. Performance is negligible unless you actually race, you can never drive so hard on the street to "max out" your stock suspension. From what I can tell, the suspension isn't a weak point for the Ralliart. I would rather spend the money on wheels and tires or adding more power.

Thanks for your input, I was just looking for a reliable way to lower the ride.
Also Ksports give an agressive drop, atleast i know the springs do, I've heard they make the ride look hella low, but you sacrifice alot.. Maybe your circumstance came with the brand you bought.

Ksports are like any coilover, you can lower them as much as you want. I didn't lower mine much, maybe an inch. While yes Ksports are on the stiffer side, you can't put on stiffer springs with stiffer struts and expect a soft ride, unless you pay the big bucks for Ohlins, Bilsteins, KWs, etc.

Are there even any coilover options designed for the RA?
