Rotas are looking nice , because they are a knock off from other famous wheels.
But , they do they job on the street.
There are safety problems with them for me, when HEAVY track use in mind. /Safety/
There is a reason why something cost more, besides the name. Like being forged.

But for the DD car you dont need better then that. So i think they are a good deal if you go around and go for local meets.

On race track with racers or like the HIN car shows , they are not too good to have.

My opinion only./not really /

My torques are 3lbs lighter each than stock wheels. Also the tires are a pound light too. The wheels and tires are bigger than stock too. I got the wheels for $450.

In the summer when I start racing again, I'll have my $450 per wheels, rims....VOLKS!

There is nothing wrong with Rotas. The forged vs. cast debate is massively overblown, 99.9% of people will never push their car hard enough to necessitate forged wheels and those that claim to are likely overdriving their car. The strength difference isn't that significant anymore. While forged wheels do weigh less, modern casting techniques allow for quite lightweight wheels to be produced. If someone is willing to pay twice as much to save 1-2 lbs, more power to them. People like to bash Rotas and say they break but guess what, even Volks, BBS', Gramlights, Works, etc. can and do break. Yes it would be great to have the money to have a set of Works on a daily driver but I can't personally rationalize having 2000-3000$ wheels on roads full of potholes, curbs, debris, etc. That being said, if you can, buy some used Works, Volks, Rays, Gramlights, whatever. They might be scuffed up but you can get that fixed for 200$ or so. Then you have lightweight, forged wheels at a cost equal to a new set of Rotas. I did that and actually recently sold my Rotas.

^well said. Having volks seem to be a status symbol. In the past Rota did have some issues with wheels breaking, and they recalled and replaced them. I know several people that have and have had Rotas and had no problems street or strip.
Me personally spending that much money for Volks so everyone want to steal them and everyday I drive I am nervous of a new pot hole I didn't know about would not be worth it. Especially since I daily drive my car and it sits in front of my work for 10hrs a day.

Buy what you can afford. If it is Rotas, cool. 5 Zigen and Enkie make several nice and not overly heavy wheels too.

Enkei makes great wheels too, they're cast but they're perfectly fine for track use.
