Launch Control for the RA

I know there has been previous discussions about this so I thought if we all came together and just asked around on the forum if it was possible to get launch control for our RA's who all would actually get it we might be able to catch some vendors attention.

Just an idea.

If I get an RA, and if I use it for rallycross, I would definitely want launch control.

It's very possible and would require a reflash of ECU and maybe the TCU as well.

Anyone ever try "neutral slamming" it? Put the car in neutral, rev it to maybe 1,500rpm (so it wouldn't be so rough) and throw it in gear. I presume the ecu will drop the revs before it engages the clutches, but hey, you never know. Otherwise, I suspect it'll require different SST TCM software.

I can assure you that it will happen eventually. Once dealers become authorized to service them, all the possibilities will open up, and limitations become apparent.

Keerrrrunch! That'll be $10,000.

Which incidentally is the additional price for a Ralliart with launch control -- it's called an Evo X MR, and it's available now from your local dealer.

I thought the RA's had it? Oh well, im guessing with the EVO already having it, it will be a easy upgrade.

I would assume people don't want to go breaking their transmissions. This kind of thing is bad enough with a torque-converter automatic, I can't see it being good for TC automatic.
Seriously though, launch control is overrated. It's a cool feature to have and use maybe once or twice but unless you can afford a new tranny, it's somewhat pointless. Even the almighty GTR is being stripped of its launch control because of how damaging it is.

Exactly. Cars like the GT-R have proven how good and bad at the same time, a launch control feature can be. Maybe if anyone can find a way to lower the time it takes for the SST to engage from a standstill, that might take a couple tents off the RA's launch. Of course, I have a very small idea of how that junk is working there; I haven't done my homework.
