new RA Modding?

I don't even have 500 miles on my RA yet but what do you guys feel are known safe mods? My only tuner connect insists that there is still much to learn about what will be best for the RA considering not much has been done with it yet. What do you feel I could do safely? (I can't afford breaking my warranty with a mod that could go sour it is my daily drive) I raced a modded dodge srt8 today and was with him the whole way (my RA is completely stock)

Approx: 400miles
Should I just do a tune/maybe boost pill?

my brother owns evo IX MR he is insisting i don't do anything yet (because of complications but i'm really anxious.

Should I wait for more+ miles? (IMO breaking engine in is kind of bs but if you know otherwise please state; only thing i've read consistent is keeping the RPM's fluctuating)

Anything anyone knows that's proven INYO to be safe +nice gains please list so I can confidently have some stuff done.

Wait until after 1000 miles and get the oil changed too after 1000 so any metal savings if any are in the oil after break in period will come out.

I would personally wait until at least 1000 miles before modding. But, as far as "safe" mods go, it should be the same as Evos. Any simple bolt-on should be relatively safe. The safest one that I can think of that shouldn't throw any kind of cel & give you around 10 whp is a Cat-back exhaust. It'll make your RA sound a lot better & shouldn't void any type of warranty.

basically anything you do to the engine or turbo will void your warrenty.

I would say for the next four weeks just deck out the looks... Get some racing wheels
get some cf pieces.

They have stuff out there for performance but if you wait a bit longer AMS is coming out with some crazy stuff for this car.

My advice to you read read read all the threads you will find alot of stuff out for this car so far.

I'm being easy for now as I'm in the same boat you are and I would hate to lose my daily driver. Not that the mods aren't safe but Let the tuners get more familiar with the car. Remember it just came out a few months ago.

Exhaust really wouldn't void warranty? Is there any specific one you feel out there right now is best one /price/availibility?

According to my dealer, Cat-back is perfectly fine. Turbo-back is a no, since it attaches to the turbo. CP-E & Ulitmate Racing are the only places I can think of that have exhausts out for the RA:
http://www.cp-e.com/scan/co=yes/fi=p...=eq.html?open=

http://www.ultimate-racing.com/Produ..._Exhaust.shtml

You also have the option of running a test pipe, which is suppose to be a quick install, but you would have to remove it when making a trip to the dealer or getting a smog check.

My dealer also said the a UICP (hot pipe) is okay, since it's mostly an aesthetic part (not sure if anyone has those out for the RA yet).

Go to AMS website and they will tell you what to send them.

Basically you mail your ECU to AMS collect payment of 500. They tune your ECU with a stage 1 flash and send it back to you.

Personally I'm not a fan of mail in flashes I'm having mine done by my tuner. I want it on the dyno for the tune. However AMS has gotten excellent review for RA mail in flashes

It always depends on the dealer on whether or not you'll void the warranty. Flash is definitely where you'll get the biggest gains.

once you flash it don't bring it in for anything else except a major problem and get it flashed back to stock for $0.00 from AMS
