Launching your RA

So I've had my RA for 6 days now and have noticed the car is pretty fast, but from a stand still it really lags for the first 1-2 seconds. I guess it is the TC-SST trying to protect the drivetrain.

I have an accelorometer that is pretty accurate and so far have got a 0-60 of 6.1 seconds and a 1/4 of 14.5s (C&D rates it at 5.5s and 14.2s)

I am guessing that I need to brake and spool up before I launch but am a bit wary of doing so.

What does everyone else do, and have you had problems with your SST after?

I did brake and then revved and I got a kind advice from the car saying "Slow The F**k Down!" hahaha.... well without the cursing part of course

Ever since, I just don't try that little thing anymore lol. Anyways our car is not a drag racer even though there aint that bunch of cars that can do a 14.2 on the quater mile right now

Btw, last test from C&D was 5.4 0-60 which rated the car as 2nd best 0-60 for cars under 30K, second to the faster 09' WRX that's doing 4.7 secs.

That why I am asking, shouldn't be to tough to reproduce the C&D times on a SST since the car is doing most of the work.

The car feels dead for the first second or two then pulls like hell.

Car is also new, very common for them to shave even almost half a second off after several thousand miles.

Do you get the tranny temp warnings?

Noticed you have a few mods, does the intercooler help alot? Thinking about picking up a used EVO X one since it should bolt right in and is almost 50% larger

Is there any benefit to having that much larger of an intercooler? It seems like it'd just be so much that the turbo wouldn't even know what to do with it lol.

If the weather cooperates, I should be taking the AMS Ralliart to the track Wed. night. All the upgrades we have done to it really help it getting out of the hole. It has every part we've prototyped except for the stock cat-back.

Guesses anyone?

larger intercooler is definitely beneficial. if you look at URs website they show the temps. stock starts at ~60 and ends up almost double. Bigger FMIC starts at 60 and only goes up a few degrees. makes a big difference
