like 50 lbs of stereo is going to make a big diff less than a person in your car

You won't notice a 20 lb difference especially since the car is already front heavy (we're talking about less than a 1% change). The big advantage to a smaller battery is more room for mods (intake, intercooler piping, etc). For people in cold environments, a really small Braille or Odyssey isn't a good idea, a lot of people on NASIOC have complained that they go dead very quickly.

Yeah I could see getting one if your old battery needs replaced. As in the case with my spec that I've had for 5 years. My dad checked it and he said one cell was weak, but we charged it and it has worked fine since then. btw, If you were to get one in a new car, I wonder if you could sell the stock battery somewhere?

if your trying to reduce weight every pound counts. If your only plan on saving weight is a mini battery than that would be pretty stupid. But I would assume people who buy mini battery kits are trying to do a lot to save weight which includes taking out extra weight like a stereo system.

I bought my mini battery kit to cut out the weight in the front of my car including taking out the crash beam and other replacement things so that my car would be closer to a 50/50 balance. For me the battery is great and also freed up a lot of room to work on the engine.

Bingo, it's like buying a CF hood for "weight savings" and then having 20 inch chrome wheels.

Unless you're racing, it's not worth it. That said, at the track do it.

I've seen track cars without back seats. Also, spare tire and jack are done by a lot of people. Put some fix-a-flat back there instead and you can save ~35 pounds (per buschur's site). I have been meaning to do this but have not to this point. It would help offset the weight of the sub.

As for the weight of the sub, I fully understand what people are saying about going with the mini-battery to save weight but then have a sub. Personally I added the mini-battery for more space in the engine bay and the fact that I went with the Buschur UICP, which required the mini-battery kit.

I have the sub installed so it doesn't move around, but I can remove it easily if I need to.

Unless you're literally racing right then, most weight savings mods are pointless. Why take out the spare tire if you're just street driving? Why rip out the back seat and turn a four door saloon into a 2-seater?

With the TC-SST transmission and the AWD taking out seats undertrays and all those small thing is not going to make an impact.

The front of our cars is ober heavy.

Less weight helps in every aspect of the car. Braking, accelerating, turning, and gas mileage, All that. hahaha.
