drawbacks to using smaller AMS ralliart battery

AMS sells a small 15lb battery for the ralliart, which shaves 20lbs off the stock battery.... what are the drawbacks to having such a small battery? Shorter lifespan?

This is the link

It says it's not good for high power audio systems, which works for me i just have the base stereo system....

Cold weather/winters can be too much for cold cranking. Running your stereo without the car on can drain it quicker. And lifespan will be shortened.

are there any problems with the car cpu detecting a new battery, or this just a simple 5 minute switchout? did you notice the 20lb difference in the car's performance? it's such a small amount not sure it really would....

I really dont see the point of AMS's battery kit, seems like a useless purchase if you ask me that could go towards a better mod.

If I recall correctly, the mini-battery is needed if you are getting the AMS intake.

3 Years of having Buschurs kit on my 9 and no problems at all. Even started right up after a 2 month hibernation waiting for a new turbo.

why would you buy a mini battery if your going to add more weight by adding a high power system lol. The point is weight reduction so I doubt anyone with a mini battery kit is going to have a heavy stereo system

^^^I do - but I can remove my sub easily when needed. I have damn near killed the battery a couple times but thankfully I haven't yet.

I would imagine this would be the main reason for purchasing the battery kit. And as stated before, when installing a system the alternator is more of a concern. Most battery won't last long playing a powerful audio system with the car off, not just the mini.
