Starter?

Got in my RA today after work, turn the key, starter is going but car is not starting. WTF! so I turn the key off, wait a sec, and try it again, after like 3 secs it coughs, cranks a couple more times, and then it starts. Anyone else had this happen? and does anyone might have a clue what happened?

That was happening a lot with the base Lancers back when they came out. My old GTS would sometimes take 3 times to start when I first got it

As for my Ralliart, havent had the problem yet

this seems to be quite a common issue...there was a thread about this starting issue before.....i wonder if it';s our starters that suck or is the stock battery being too weak...

if you have the cash get an Optima battery or something and see if you ever run into this starting issue again or not....

I think some other people had the same problem w their RA. Dealer ended up doing a reflash and it was fixed. If it keeps giving you a problem, bring her in to dealer.

I had this happen once. Took about 20-30 seconds to get started. Was a bit worried, but haven't had it happen since.

I wish that was available to the Midwest. I asked my dealer and they don't have any flashes yet.

the dealers have a flash that fixes the starting issue but it isn't a recall?
