had my 09 RA towed.... is it damaged?

Must have parked in a bad zone this morning, and they towed my RA . I'm primarily concerned the car wasn't damaged somehow since it has AWD.... it was only towed about 10 blocks. I'm pretty sure they used a flatbed truck. I did have the emergency brake up when they towed it.

Everything seems ok.... emergency brake works, car handles like it used to..... should I still have it looked over? I imagine it couldn't have harmed the car too much.....

most towing companies are aware of vehicles with AWD. they have wheel dollies they will use to put the car on the flat bed. it wouldnt hurt to have it looked over, but if something was damaged due to the tow, most likely it would show up right away.

Thumbs up

That's exactly what they do, if you notice anything contact the tow company asap.

thanks putting my mind at ease guys....... nothing like having your brand new baby getting mishandled to ruin your morning...... i imagine if the towing did damage something, it would be something to do with the drivetrain, and it seems to drive just as smooth as usual. I'm just a little nervous they didn't pick up the car had AWD right away...... i guess the wheels don't turn and they would have been pretty much forced to figure it out.

i'm not saying that's what they did, that's what i'm nervous they might have done. i'm just paranoid i guess.... f**ing hate city parking, it's not the place for a RA.... thank god i will be moving out of baltimore at the end of the week. will take it to the dealer later this afternoon to get it looked over.

As long as they didn't tow it so one set of wheels is stationary while the other set is moving, it'll be fine.

if they did tow it with one set of wheels on the ground, i'd probably notice that right away right? that probably would have grinded up a gear or two, or 3...... or 4...

You'd notice because your transfer case would be in pieces.

U are very lucky and got a smart tow guy. I saw one dude towing an automatic Corolla from the back wheels, It didnt create a nice sound.

I saw a WRX get towed from the front wheels once. That had to suck for that owner.

took the car to the dealer, i did luck out he said there was no damage. while i was there i got my oil changed and actually they 1-2 things that needed replacing as part of a parts recall on the RA. One was a hood release cable, the other was another hood-related component I believe.
