Shifting

Would it be reasonable to suspect that making power modifications could cause a change in the shift characteristics of the tranny? It seems that my car wants to default to 6th gear even sooner than it had in the past when it was stock, and in auto mode normal.

The tranny is pretty smart. Try driving in manual for a little. Teach it when you want it to shift. Manually shifting at 3k rpms in each gear. This will teach the normal auto mode to shift at 3k rpms. It's pretty neat!

I resetting the ecu before and it went back to when I first got it. Shifting to 6th gear right away @ less than 40mph. Talk about lugging the engine.

I will give that a try. That would be neat to teach it. Thanks for the input.

if this is true than thats crazi... the first four months i had the car sports auto mode was flawless but then one day i was driving in sports manual and two times in a row i bounced off the revlimiter coming off stop lights (forgot i was in auto mode) so i put it in normal auto for the rest of the day. then a few days later i went into sports auto and every single time i would push it hard it would bounce off the rev limiter once then shift and i was like wtf... call me crazi but i think i found my problem
