Hey guys


I got a CEL, is there any way to turn off the idiot light on the dash??

 

1.) find out what the code is...
2.) fix it

 

I thought there was a way to reset it from the multi info display button....

 

There Is a way to reset it but it will come back on after a few miles. Depending what it is. Fixing it would be a permant fix if not ur going to be reseting it every hour, everyday.

 

A CEL will only go out if you reset it with an OBD II tool, or if the fault goes away on its own and isn't detected for several cold to hot start and stop cycles.

I think Autozone can check it for you for free since you probably don't want to go to the dealer with your new mods.

 

its the air fuel sensor. And AMS didnt tune it for the intake so there you go!

And yes I took my car to advanced auto parts the guy got the code fixed it ran down the street with 25 pounds of boost and 260 awhp! Omg was it fast as hell!!!!!! I almost poopd my pant lol. But only lasted until the cel came back on. Lol

 

Wow there uppin the boost on stock turbos? thats crazy

 

um..25 pounds of boost..doubt it..theres no way. and just by "fixing" a cel, and increasing boost will not make the car run fast. you need to adjust air/fuel and how would you know your at 260 hp?! i didnt know advanced auto parts have a dyno

 

PCMscan - reads the CEL code and clears it.

Damn I had my car on the dyno to know what power its making. lol! And if ur boost holds at 25lbs it would've blown up already.....

 

^ ya my evo blew up when it was hitting a little above that. High boost w/o proper amount of fuel is a no no.
